RME Sign : e‑signing for Australia

Sign business documents online, the Australian way. Send a document, and each person signs from a link in their email, on a phone or a computer. Everyone gets the signed copy and a record of who signed and when.

Already set up? Sign in with your Microsoft work account. IT admins: read the RME Sign documentation.

01 What it’s for

Everyday business documents.

RME Sign is for the paperwork a business signs every week. Some documents have their own rules, so they’re not for e-signing here.

Good for

  • Agreements and contracts
  • Quotes and proposals
  • Engagement letters
  • Client and HR forms
  • Consent and approval forms

Not for

  • Wills
  • Powers of attorney
  • Land transfers
  • Statutory declarations
  • Anything that must be witnessed in person

02 How it works

Four steps, from your document to a signed copy.

  1. Select document

Pick your agreement, quote or form (PDF) in the browser, or right-click it on your PC.

  2. Send

Each signer gets a private link by email. No account needed.

  3. Sign

On a phone or computer, in any order you choose.

  4. Sealed and shared

A tamper-evident signed PDF with a full audit record goes to everyone.

General information, not legal advice. Not for wills, powers of attorney, land transfers or statutory declarations. More detail is in the compliance section of the documentation.

Other countries: based on published guidance (not a review of each country’s statutes), simple electronic signatures like RME Sign are generally recognised for ordinary business contracts in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States (business-to-business; consumer agreements need extra disclosures), Canada, the European Union, Singapore, Hong Kong and South Africa, subject to local conditions such as recipient consent. Each has its own exclusions, which commonly include wills and some land documents, and some documents need a higher-level signature. Check local rules for your document.

04 Built for Microsoft 365

Fits the way your team already works.

RME Solutions Technology is a Microsoft partner, and we build in Microsoft 365 every day. Your team signs in with the Microsoft accounts they already use, and the desktop client puts RME Sign on the right-click menu. We switch both on for your organisation on request.

05 What’s behind it

Open source, run by us, in Australia East.

Built on Documenso, the open-source e-signing platform, and run by RME on our own server in Microsoft Azure Australia East.

  • Open-source engine. Documenso Community Edition, the open-source e-signing platform, licensed AGPL-3.0 and run unmodified.

  • Our own copy. Not a shared service. RME runs its own copy in Microsoft Azure Australia East (NSW), with a private database and no public internet address.

  • Sealed and recorded. Each signed PDF has a tamper-evident digital seal (PAdES) with a trusted timestamp, a signing certificate page (who, email, IP, device, times) and a full audit log.

  • Easy for signers. Signers need no account. They sign from an email link.

  • Sign-in. Senders sign in with Microsoft, behind Cloudflare Zero Trust.

  • Backups. Nightly encrypted backups, also copied off-site to Cloudflare R2 (Oceania region).

Where your documents go

  • Live documents are kept in Microsoft Azure Australia East (NSW). Encrypted backup copies are kept in Cloudflare R2 (Oceania region).
  • Invitation and notice emails go through Microsoft 365.
  • Cloudflare’s global network sits in front of the service.
  • We don’t sell your documents or use them for anything else.
